Join us for our 2026 Workshop Series!

This workshop series is offered by the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition and WRAPS programs free of charge, but registration is needed for a meal count, nametags and to provide any information on any changes to the events. The series will focus on improving soil health and grazing practices to protect the environment and improve water quality and farm/ranch profitability.

Candy Thomas
is a soil health specialist with her own company Soil Caretakers Services, LLC. She is currently contracted with Kansas Association of Conservation Districts working with landowners on grazing and growing wheat in a soil health system. She is recently retired from USDA NRCS as a regional soil health specialist for the last 10 years and state agronomist in Kansas in 2013 to 2015 retiring with 31 years of service. Her husband and her own 425 acres in Iowa and Missouri and they graze cow/calf for the last 25 years and just recently started farming the Missouri land.



Doug Peterson brings over 35 years experience across USDA-NRCS, Regenified, consulting and personal experience he has dedicated his career to helping row crop and livestock producers around the country understand soil health and regenerative agriculture, how it impacts virtually all natural resource processes, and what type of management it will take to effectively regenerate our soil's health, function and productivity. He has owned and operated his own 250 head cow/calf and contract grazing operation utilizing Adaptive Regenerative Grazing and now shares knowledge for selecting the right fence, waterline, water tanks, adapted livestock, cover crops, no-till equipment and more.
