Understanding Easements, Monitoring, and Stewardship
Join us for a continuation of our Conservation Easement Essentials (CE2) Workshop series. Building upon the foundation of the 2023 workshops, conservation partners will take a deeper dive into easement monitoring, stewardship, landowner perspectives, and easement misconceptions.
Easement Landowners Welcome!
Workshop Details:
Day one will be classroom-style presentations beginning with an introduction to easements for newcomers, discussions on the pros and cons of being an easement landowner, and ending with a classroom activity designed to train participants in preparation for onsite easement monitoring. Lunch is provided.
Day two will apply the skills learned on day one with a trip to the field to complete a practice easement monitoring visit. We will wrap up the workshop with a discussion of monitoring findings and appropriate next steps for enforcement and stewardship.
Who Should Attend?
Private individuals and industry professionals with a background in biology, natural resource management, or similar who are interested in learning more about easement monitoring, stewardship, and possibly interested in becoming a contract monitor for a land trust in Kansas.
